Now that the NFL season is drawing near once again and teams’ training camps get into gear, the time has come for you to review your online football betting know-how.

And it makes a lot of sense to bet on football via the Internet. Internet sports betting “casinos” are convenient; you are much more in control than you are with telephoning some seedy bookie; the best names (which are usually publicly traded companies) are very safe; the customer service is great because Internet casinos are very hungry for your business; you don’t have to be a high stakes player to be wanted; sports betting sites want everybody’s business and they go out of their way to be great for you in order to get it; and, they have more options to offer you.

Now when it comes to strategy: If you’re going to be placing online bets on NFL games, you’ll want to be familiar with NFL key numbers. NFL key numbers have to do with the fact that the majority of all NFL games end with the same margin of victory. What this means for you is it’s very important to study this angle so you can smartly cover the point spreads.

17% of all NFL games end with a three-point victory. Another 10% end with a 7-point victory. 6% end with a 10-point victory and 6% of victories are of six points. 4% of NFL games are won by four points. Thus, 43% of all NFL games will end with just one of these five point margins, and all of those margins fall within the range of what matters for sports betting winning or losing when the factor of point spreads is factored in.

It’s important to understand that these point spreads are most important in the most widely used form of NFL betting, which is the side bet. In these, the team that bookmakers consider to be the underdog get the better point spread, so that the team that’s expected to win also has to win by at least a certain amount of points for you to win your bet. So, for instance, if you bet on the team that does win the game, but the point spread was 5.5 and they only won by five points, you lose your money. (They had to win by at least six points to cover the spread.)

But you can also bet on total points. When you do this, you estimate how many total points you think both teams will score in the game, regardless of who will win or lose. The bookmakers will also do this and they will set the total points number for the game. You bet on whether or not the point total will be Under or Over that total. But this same kind of betting can get more complex and varied with what are called “proposition” bets. With a “prop” bet you can wager on a wide array of factors: what will be the score at halftime; which starting QB will throw for more yards; who will have the most tackles; etc.

For a more long term approach to NFL betting you can try the futures market. With this kind of betting, you wager at the start of the season on who will win a certain division, who will win the AFC/NFC, who will win the Super Bowl.

So as the new NFL season draws near, start contemplating your online betting! It’s fun, and you just may make some serious money.

Skateboarding is one of the many sports that involve displays of skill and expertise. It is essential to know a skateboarding trick or another to be considered a real skateboarder. Many skateboarding tricks have been developed through all the time people have been skateboarding. Here are just some of the most popular tricks:

1. Aerials - also known as airs, these general kinds of tricks are typically done on quarter pipes, pools or half pipes where vertical walls with transitions are available. Aerials are usually combined with other tricks such as grabs and rotations. Among the most popular subtypes of aerials would be the 540, 720, 900, Benihana, Body Jar, Caballerial, Christ Air, Finger Flip air, Gay Twist, Gnar Jar, Judo Air, Lien Air, Madonna, McTwist, Samba Flip, Sean Penn, Sloth Air, Stalefish, Rocket Air, and Method Air.

2. Ollie - this is known as the father of skateboarding tricks because most tricks are derived from this. Invented by and named after Alan “Ollie” Gelfand, this trick involves getting on air without grabbing the skateboard but instead by stomping or popping the posterior end of the board. Variations of the Ollie involve the Nollie, switch Ollie, Fakie Ollie, Power Ollie, Boned Ollie, Ollie North, and Pressure.

3. The Flip - as its name suggests, the flip is a skateboarding trick that involves the flipping or spinning of the board in the air. This trick was originally developed by Rodney Mullen, who then called it the Magic Flip. Among the most popular variations of the flip are the heelflip, kickflip, Casper Flip, Anti-Casper Flip, Backside Flip, Big Spin, Cab Flip, Disco Kickflip, Ghetto Bird, Hardflip, Hospital Flip, Impossible, Late Flip, Mother Flip, Pop Shove-it, Sal Flip, Salabanzi, Sex Change and the Scissor Flip.

4. The Grab - as these tricks are named, grabs involve holding the skateboard, usually during aerials. Grabs are quite useful in keeping the skateboarder on the board during in mid-flight. Examples of grabs are the Airwalk grab, Backside grab, cannonball grab, Crail grab, Christ Air, Early grab, Frontside grab, Gorilla grab, Indy grab, Japan grab, Melon grab, Mosquito grab, Nose grab, Roast Beef, Seatbelt grab, Tail grab and the Tucknee.

5. The Grind - this is a kind of trick where a skateboarder would hide on hangers of the skateboard truck. This trick can be done on any smooth object where the truck can slide. Some of the variations of the grind are the Barley grind, Crooked grind, Darkslide, Fandangle, Freeble grind, Gurl grind, Hurricane, Losi grind, Nosegrind, Novacaine, Overcrook grind, Pole Jam, Salad grind, Smith grind, Sugarcane, Suski grind, Willy Grind, and Csmit grind.

6. The Slide - sliding is somewhat like the grind, but instead of gliding through the trick, this involves gliding using the board itself. Some important slides are the Bertlemann slide, Bluntslide, Boardslide, Booger slide, Crail slide, Ces slide, Darkslide, Lipslide, Noselide, Powerslide, and the Tailslide.

7. Lip Tricks - this skateboarding trick is done on mini ramps, quarterpipes, and half pipes. They are called so because they need to balance on ramp lips. Notable lip tricks are the Andrecht Invert, Axle stall, Blunt, Disaster, Egg Plant, Fakie-Bonk-off, Frontside Invert, Good Buddy, Ho-Ho, New Deal, Nose pick, Nose stall, Pivot, Pogo, Rock and Roll, Smithvert, Tail Stall, Staple Gun, Stelmasky Plant, Sweeper, Tail Block, Tucknee Invert, and the Woolly Mammoth.

There are many other skateboarding tricks out there, and many others are still being developed. To now more about skateboarding tricks, you can read the leading skateboarding magazines or ask a skateboarding expert.

If you are wondering about what the under armor craze is all about then it would benefit you to peruse this article. Under armor is definitely gaining popularity not only among the serious athletes but also among the gym hitting health & fitness minded populace. If you belong to one of the above categories you should give buying under armor gear a serious thought.

What is under armor?

Basically its the material, mostly made of polyester, with the distinguishing feature being the form-fitting, moisture wicking property. Under armor is a clothing branded in Maryland, US and was designed with the specific intention of targeting sports wear.

The initial line of design was meant to be worn under the jerseys and was used by soccer, baseball and basketball players. Presently under armor caters to t-shirts for regular wear, sweatshirts and sweatpants along with other gaming wears.

Under Armor Shoes:

If you are like me you would mostly be using your running shoes for almost all the athletic activity as well as for gym training. Running shoes are meant for running and most of them perform their job well but for agility training which involves a lot of lateral movements, skips and jumps you need a more professional gear than just your running shoes. Here is where the Armor Shoes come in, these blades are designed with the specific intention of aiding you with your agility training routine.

The Structure:

Armor shoes as mentioned above are agility trainers and are built for that very purpose. The cosmetic value of the shoes are obviously sacrificed to a good extent to fulfill this purpose. The form-fitting property of these shoes would need a little getting used to but once you do it feels really comfortable almost like a sox. The form-fitting nature of these shoes allow for a lot of flexibility for the ankles during lateral movements, halts, jumps and skips. The bulky rubber soles are designed to give you good traction on carpeted, clayed as well as wooden surfaces. This helps in balance and control especially during rigorous workouts. I am black color fan but there are other colors also available in these shoes like white/red.

The Salient Points:

Armor shoes as with any armor material provide for comfort owing to their the moisture-wicking, light weight and elastic property. They require very little break in period, it almost a given that you will be perfectly comfortable inside your shoes with very little mileage. The heat absorption property of the fabric keeps your feet cool even under rigorous conditions. The structure of these shoes allows for get stability as well as shock absorption near the regions which feel the most impact namely the ankle and lower leg.

The shoe would fit you like a sock and during the sharp turns it would conform to the angle of your feet allowing for comfortable support. The design of the shoe takes care of ensuring that the stretchy property of the fabric does not cause the shoe to give way while making the jumps or roll overs.

Final Word:

All in all if you have had an experience using under armor gear whether it be sweatshirts, t-shirts or compression shorts you will know the benefits of using this fabric for athletic purpose. The under armor shoe fits the same advantages and would be worth the investments made.

The Carolina Panthers were one of the best teams in the NFL in 2008. The had offense, they had defense, they had the best record in possibly the best conference in the NFL. Their shorter than expected playoff run was disheartening for the Carolina faithful who were expecting a better postseason finish, but all that aside, there’s a lot to like about Carolina in the near future. Here are a few of the best reasons to go to online for some Carolina Panthers tickets next season, plus a few suggestions for what the Panthers can do over the offseason.

Schedule Breakdown

Carolina started out the year in exciting fashion, winning on the road against one of the better teams in the AFC, the San Diego Chargers, via a last-second touchdown strike. The Panthers won their home opener in week two in a close one versus the Chicago Bears. In the first half of the year, the eight games before their bye week, the Panthers went 6-2. After their break, the Panthers won the easy ones (including games against Oakland, Detroit and Denver) and lost to a couple of playoff teams (the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons). Their last eight games produced a 6-2 record, thus giving the Panthers a 12-4 overall record, good for first in their division and a first round bye in the playoffs. The overall trajectory of the team was a steady climb to the top of the NFL. By the time they were 8-2 people were thinking they could be a Super Bowl contender. Their best run came when they were 11-3 after beating the Denver Broncos at home, having won seven of their last eight games.

Stats Highlights

Where do you start with the highlights? The Panthers’ offense and defense were both in the top half of the league, and their turnover differential was +6. Running the ball was the meat, potatoes, bread, butter and kitchen sink of the team. The Panthers ended the regular season with the third most rushing yards as a team (2,437), and the most rushing touchdowns (30). DeAngelo Williams shined, as he ran for 1,515 yards and 18 touchdowns (oh, and never fumbled the ball once), a breakout performance for the third-year back. Jonathan Stewart, a rookie, ran for 836 yards and 10 touchdowns. Jake Delhomme performed admirably after returning from surgery. He was one of the league’s best in yards gained per completed pass, as deep bombs were set up beautifully by a successful running game. Wideout Steve Smith had his fifth consecutive 1,000-yard receiving year (not including 2004, when he played just one game). Julius Peppers had 14.5 sacks.

Stats Lowlights

The Panthers’ one weakness appeared to be their passing defense. Teams went after their secondary pretty hard, and they gave up 3,387 yards through the air. Their rushing defense gave up 1912 yards on the ground, which was in the bottom half of the league. We hate to mention the playoff game against the Cardinals, but Jake Delhomme’s stats in that game certainly count as a lowlight, though they weren’t representative of his overall work.

Possible Offseason Moves

If the Panthers want to shore up their defense, they might invest in linemen or linebackers who can put pressure on the quarterback. Both Jon Beason and Julius Peppers are amazing, but they need some supporting cast members to carry the defense to the next level. The Panthers have nothing wrong on offense, but they might hesitate before trading away some of their talent for more defense.

First, a few words about the resort: Alpe d’Huez lies in the heart of the Grandes Rousses ski area. Of course, the French were skiing there first but foreigners joined them quite soon, since the reputation of the Island of the Sun goes well beyond the French territory. A resort where, on certain years, several hundreds days of visible sunshine are recorded can not be kept secret for long! The sceneries are astounding on clear days and, from the Pic Blanc summit, both the Mont Blanc and Mont Cervin can be spotted in the distance. The Alpe d’Huez ski area covers over ten thousand hectares and offers more than 230 kilometers of slopes.

Back to our topic, the restaurant offer in Alpe d’Huez is endless. On course, many restaurants serve traditional alpine specialties, but the diversified offer (Mexican, Tha, and whatever else you can wish for) will satisfy even the pickiest diner.

One cannot visit the Alps and have a complete experience without trying at least one of their traditional specialties. Typical dishes, including tartiflette, raclette and fondue, come in many declensions but always include lots of melted cheese. They all can be eaten guiltlessly since the totality of the extra calories ingested will be easily spent on the exciting slopes the next day. Many restaurants offer those dishes, the most reputable ones would include Le Passe Montagne, where you will find good value on Route de la Poste, Au Bl Noir on Chemin des Bergers, Les Epiciers on Place de l’Ours Blanc and Le Petit Taverne in L’Eclose. In Huez Village, a slightly remote location, you will certainly not be disappointed by L’Ancolie, the experience is well worth the extra distance.

Like in any European ski resort, you will find a very large choice of pizza and pasta restaurants. One stands out of the crowd and is particularly charming: L’Authentic, on Avenue des Jeux. The traditional Italian dishes, such as a selection of fresh pastas served with homemade sauces as well as sea fish skewers and saltimbocca of calf with figs and gnocchi, are served in a wooden chalet-style restaurant.

If you are a seafood fan, you most definitely have to try La Fromagerie, located opposite the ice rink. And if you fancy food with an edge, then you must try the very popular Smithys Tavern. The Tex-Mex menu and the homemade burgers are hearty and the portions, generous.

For a smaller fare, there are numerous fast food joints in Alpe d’Huez. For a midnight snacks after great partying, one good option is the Captain Sandwich, open until 2am. For a real bargain, get a mini-pizza at Pizza Roll for only 3!

Other notable mentions are Le Genepi, which serves out of the ordinary ribs and Le P’tit Creux, which is renowned for its fine cuisine - traditional menus with a distinct touch.

After skiing, eating and partying, you will most certainly want to engage in an other great activity: sleeping. The accommodations in Alpe d’Huez are as diverse as the visitors’ budgets and needs: from cabins and chalets, from apartments and houses, to hotels and self-catering studios, you’ll find what you need.

O.B.S. company is currently working on Alpe d’Huez skiing project. It represents possible Alpe d’Huez accommodation and activities during Alpe d’Huez winter vacations in France. Visit Dining out in Alpe d’Huez, France.

There’s nothing quite like the NFL playoffs. Playoff weekends in the National Football League provide more excitement than in any other major sport. Every game is a win or go home scenario, something that makes NFL tickets some of the most desirable tickets in sports. I do, however, have a problem with the way the playoff seeding is set up.

In an age where the league is full of parity, we find that some divisions have more good teams than others on a rather regular basis. For example, in 2008 both the NFC and AFC West divisions were weaker than all the others. Still, the 8-8 Chargers were awarded the fourth seed in the AFC because they won their division. The 9-7 Cardinals secured the fourth seed in the NFC west, despite having a worse record than either of the wild card teams. Thus, the 11-5 Atlanta Falcons were forced to play a road game in Arizona and the 12-4 Indianapolis Colts were forced to play a road game in San Diego. Both wild card teams lost those games.

What did the Chargers and Cardinals do to earn home field advantage against teams with better records? The Colts and Falcons played in tougher divisions and still managed to earn better overall records than either west division winner; they just happened to have the two best teams in the conference play in their divisions. The logic used to seed the teams is flawed. Why not make it so the team with a better record gets the home game, with the tiebreaker going to the division winner? This seems much more logical to me.

This issue comes up again in the second round of the playoffs as well. In the AFC, the Tennessee Titans earned the number one seed in the conference, which should entitle them to play the worst team still standing in the second round. Yet, because of the seeding, they’ll face a Ravens team that went 11-5 in the regular season instead of a Chargers team that went 8-8. The Ravens made the playoffs on a wild card berth, so they were named a lower seed than the Chargers despite winning three more games in the regular season. In the NFC, the Giants battled down the stretch for the number one seed, defeating the now number two seed Panthers in overtime to clinch it.

Now the Giants must face an Eagles team that went 9-6-1 in the regular season instead of a Cardinals team that went 9-7. With the way the playoff seeding is set up, the Giants would have been better off losing that game to the Panthers, which defeats the whole idea of competition. You should be rewarded for winning, not punished.

I understand that this issue does not come up every season, but once is one too many times. I’m not all that ok with an 8-8 team getting into the postseason (especially with an 11-5 Patriots team being left out, but I understand the need for a team from each division), but this playoff seeding issue could be rectified simply by seeding teams by record, as long as each division is represented.

The NBA adjusted their playoff seeding rules to accommodate a similar problem a few years back and I don’t see why the NFL shouldn’t do the same. Teams that win more games in the regular season should be rewarded in the playoffs.

  The Chop Stroke

In Tennis, a chop stroke is a shot where the angle towards the player and behind the racquet, made by the line of flight of the ball, and the racquet travelling down across it, is greater than 45 degrees and may be 90 degrees. The racquet face passes slightly outside the ball and down the side, chopping it, as a man chops wood. The spin and curve is from right to left. It is made with a stiff wrist.

The slice shot merely reduced the angle mentioned from 45 degrees down to a very small one. The racquet face passes either inside or outside the ball, according to direction desired, while the stroke is mainly a wrist twist or slap. This slap imparts a decided skidding break to the ball, while a chop “drags” the ball off the ground without break.

The rules of footwork for both these shots should be the same as the drive, but because both are made with a short swing and more wrist play, without the need of weight, the rules of footwork may be more safely discarded and body position not so carefully considered.

Both these shots are essentially defensive, and are labour-saving devices when your opponent is on the baseline. A chop or slice is very hard to drive, and will break up any driving game.

It is not a shot to use against a volley, as it is too slow to pass and too high to cause any worry. It should be used to drop short, soft shots at the feet of the net man as he comes in. Do not strive to pass a net man with a chop or slice, except through a big opening.

The drop-shot is a very soft, sharply-angled chop stroke, played wholly with the wrist. It should drop within 3 to 5 feet of the net to be of any use. The racquet face passes around the outside of the ball and under it with a distinct “wrist turn.” Do not swing the racquet from the shoulder in making a drop shot. The drop shot has no relation to a stop-volley. The drop shot is all wrist. The stop-volley has no wrist at all.

Use all your wrist shots, chop, slice, and drop, merely as an auxilliary to your orthodox game. They are intended to upset your opponent’s game through the varied spin on the ball.

The Half Volley

This shot requires more perfect timing, eyesight, and racquet work than any other, since its margin of safety is smallest and its manifold chances of mishaps numberless.

It is a pick-up. The ball meets the ground and racquet face at nearly the same moment, the ball bouncing off the ground, on the strings. This shot is a stiff-wrist, short swing, like a volley with no follow through. The racquet face travels along the ground with a slight tilt over the ball and towards the net, thus holding the ball low; the shot, like all others in tennis, should travel across the racquet face, along the short strings. The racquet face should always be slightly outside the ball.

The half volley is essentially a defensive stroke, since it should only be made as a last resort, when caught out of position by your opponent’s shot. It is a desperate attempt to extricate yourself from a dangerous position without retreating. never deliberately half volley.

Court Position

A tennis court is 39 feet long from baseline to net. There are only two places in a tennis court that a tennis player should be to await the ball.

1. About 3 feet behind the baseline near the middle of the court, or

2. About 6 to 8 feet back from the net and almost opposite the ball.

The first is the place for all baseline players. The second is the net position.

If you are drawn out of these positions by a shot which you must return, do not remain at the point where you struck the ball, but attain one of the two positions mentioned as rapidly as possible.

The distance from the baseline to about 10, feet from the net may be considered as “no-man’s-land” or “the blank.” Never linger there, since a deep shot will catch you at your feet. After making your shot from the blank, as you must often do, retreat behind the baseline to await the return, so you may again come forward to meet the ball. If you are drawn in short and cannot retreat safely, continue all the way to the net position.

Never stand and watch your shot, for to do so simply means you are out of position for your next stroke. Strive to attain a position so that you always arrive at the spot the ball is going to before it actually arrives. Do your hard running while the ball is in the air, so you will not be hurried in your stroke after it bounces.

It is in learning to do this that natural anticipation plays a big role. Some players instinctively know where the next return is going and take position accordingly, while others will never sense it. It is to the latter class that I urge court position, and recommend always coming in from behind the baseline to meet the ball, since it is much easier to run forward than back.

Should you be caught at the net, with a short shot to your opponent, do not stand still and let him pass you at will, as he can easily do. Pick out the side where you think he will hit, and jump to, it suddenly as he swings. If you guess right, you win the point. If you are wrong, you are no worse off, since he would have beaten you anyway with his shot.

Your position should always strive to be such that you can cover the greatest possible area of court without sacrificing safety, since the straight shot is the surest, most dangerous, and must be covered. It is merely a question of how much more court than that immediately in front of the ball may be guarded.

A well-grounded knowledge of court position saves many points, to say nothing of much breath expended in long runs after hopeless shots.

In today’s modern world, clothing is an important and essential part of individual’s lives and every thing involved in producing clothing has continued to increase in higher levels of quality throughout the years.

Sweatshirts are not left out as far as the increase of higher levels of quality. Fashion has become extremely important for everyday wear and this is why many businesses are now using these items of clothing to advertise their business. Whenever you walk down the street people pay attention to what you are wearing just as you pay attention to what others are wearing. Over the past couple of decades, these type of shirts have continued to grow in popularity and they do not seem to be going out of style any time soon either.

If you were to ask your friends and family members if they owned a sweatshirt I am sure that they will answer yes, because it is so unusual for anyone not to have one somewhere in their closets. In fact, there are people of all ages and sizes that wear them on a regular basis and celebrities are not exempt to wearing them either. Celebrities are photographed all the time wearing sweat-shirts and they even appear in major motion pictures with them on. They are worn to work, school, the gym, the beach, while cleaning the house, mowing the yard, and just about everywhere simply because they are so comfortable to wear.

Many businesses have learned that with the right color, design, and texture these shirts can be used to advertise their business, which will gain them more sales. They have become a promotional item that are used all over where everyone can see and then once they see the advertisement they instantly begin thinking about it.

Many businesses will give them away as promotional material to their customers as a free and extremely cheap gift for purchasing something from them. As a result, the customer will wear these promotional gifts and the business receives free advertising in the process.

When a customer is wearing the promotional shirt, he/she will often times be confronted by other individuals who will inquire about the advertisement printed on it. They may ask about the products and services that it displays and if the customer’s buying experience has been an enjoyable one, then the customer is sure to give the business a good review. This, in turn, becomes word of mouth advertisement as well as promotional advertisement.

Some places of business will hand these promotional clothes out free to certain customers that purchase a certain amount, while other businesses will sell these promotional items to their customers. Of course, this all depends on the type of business it is and on the types of products and services that the business is serving to the public as well.

The main reason behind these promotional sweatshirts is to give the business more word of mouth advertising. Other reasons for giving them may be because the business is celebrating an anniversary for being in business or for serving a particular amount of customers and clients. Some times the business may sponsor some type of sports competition such as a local softball tournament where the proceeds go to charity and the business will produce the promotional shirts for this purpose.

Beyond records, changes, and scratches, how can you select the right picks in horseracing? Certainly not by picking the horse because you like his namethats never good, unless the horses name is Wingnutfor some reason we like that name! We, at Bet America, know how to give you the best tips so after youve read through these tips, visit our website at the link below.

Know the racetrack- find out the track records and which horses do well there. Horses do well on a dry track, yet others will do well on a muddy track so see which conditions the horse you are looking at does best when he runs a race.

The horse the horse itself should be a big part of your decision. What is the horse’s record? Does he start out fast but finish slow? If so, change your horse. A good horse will not only start out fast but also be able to pull ahead and finish strong.

Whos the jockey? Some jockeys do better than others, so check the jockey stats at the track, and see who seems to perform well there.

Whos the trainer? Check the records of the trainers for each horse. Training is important and how they train is important so do some research on your trainer to see if their horse is a good bet.

Health Is you horse healthy or has it had problems with injuries and illness. Stay away from horses that seem to be injured a lot or cant stay healthy race after race.

Stats Check the stats on each horse you looking at for the particular racetrack where they are running. If they dont do well at one track, chances are they might do better at another so be patient and wait for your horse to run on its favorite track.

Earnings how much money has the horse earned over his racing career? Obviously, the higher the better, so dont pick old low-on-the-totem-pole because he has a name you want to name your kid, unless its Wingnut.

What are the horses odds? You can check this on the tracks tote board before each race or in the program if you spend the bucks to buy one. Odds are good things to check for in any race, especially when you want to figure out how much to betremember the payouts are after the track cut and how many people have bet on that spectacular horse youre betting on.

Seek knowledge from others try to go to the track with friends who are knowledgeable about horse racing, can read the tote board, figure the odds, and do well in their betting choices. If you dont have friends who like betting on horseracing, or just dont have any friends, read the next tip.

Find someoneanyone! Try to find someone you see at the track often that has a friendly face and seems to do well. Start up a conversation with this person and buy them a beer or two. A knowledgeable persons advice can be gold.

If youre still unsure, we can help at Bet America. We have the best picks and tips and can give you all the real time stats you need. Visit our website at: http://www.betamerica.com, before you go it alone or pick a horse because its got a catchy name, unless of course, its name is Wingnut!

Let’s take a look at which players are most deserving of the NBA’s awards for the 2008-09 season now that we’re through the 2008 portion.

Most Valuable Player: LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers - James is having another fantastic statistical season, but a few things have changed this year. One, his team is winning. LeBron has injected life into the franchise ever since he was drafted, and they’ve been good since he’s arrived, but the Cavaliers are looking like a legitimate title contender this season. LeBron has also improved his free throw shooting, which was one of his biggest knocks coming into this season. As of January 2nd, he’s shooting 77 percent from the stripe. LeBron has also stepped it up big time on the defense end this year. He’s the best player in the league and the biggest draw when it comes to selling NBA tickets, and should be for the next decade or so.

Rookie of the Year: Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls - O.J. Mayo is having a great season in Memphis, but no rookie has been saddled with as much responsibility as Rose. He’s already the leader of his team and is playing major minutes. He’s showing the potential to be the best point guard in the league this side of Chris Paul. Rose has had very few poor games and is showing incredible poise for a player of his age.

Defensive Player of the Year: LeBron James, Cleveland Cavaliers - I love what Dwight Howard is doing in the middle in orlando, but James has shown the ability and willingness to be an elite defender this season. He’s got all the makings of a shut-down defender on the perimeter and is proving it this season. I’d give him the award at this point because he still gives his all on defense despite being the focal point on the other end.

Most Improved Player: Devin Harris, New Jersey Nets - I always knew Harris could play, but I never thought he’d reach this level, especially not at this age. Harris has been giving the keys in Jersey and is making the most of it. It’s obvious he’s worked hard on his three point shot, which has made his lightning-quick first step that much more devastating. He’s playing at an All-Star starter-caliber level right now and has shown no signs of tapering off.

Sixth Man of the Year: Jason Terry, Dallas Mavericks - As of January 2nd, Terry is averaging more than 20 points per game for the Mavs. He’s been fantastic to this point and provides his team with an offensive spark every time he enters the game.

Coach of the Year: Mike Brown, Cleveland Cavaliers - While LeBron and the addition of Mo Williams receive most of the attention when looking at the Cavs’ improvement, make sure to credit Brown as well. Brown has changed his offensive game plan to better suit his talent while not allowing the team to lose their focus on defense, the main thing he preaches. Right now, he’s got the Cavs in prime position to go to the Finals.

According to the rating of autotropoils, the safest car of 2008 is Ford Taurus. The 2008 Ford Taurus came tantalizingly close to earning a perfect 5-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This car also scored all five-star rating in all frontal and side crash tests. The only thing that was left was rollover test from a slim margin. Other than that, this car got five-star rating in all accidental tests. Other than that, all wheel drive makes it even safer for people who drive it. So, it was giving a tough competition to other cars in safety competition. It has 4 doors, and can carry 5 people in it.

There are a number of other cars that can come in the top rating of safest car. If you want to find the best car of the year or anything like that, you can just search the internet for the safest car and you will get a number of results.

There are about 25 cars that are listed in the safest car section of forbes.com. Other than that there are a number of other websites like msn and yahoo which are telling you about the features of the safest cars.

However, most of the cars that are the safest are very expensive. The reason is that the equipments that are included in the cars are very expensive. These things are what make it out of reach for a middle man.

So, instead of consulting these websites for updates, you can just go to some online forums about vehicles and discuss about the safest car in your own budget. There are a number of car which are also safe if you are willing to keep them in control while driving. Any car could be proved as the safest car on the earth.

If you have a good budget to buy a nice car, then you should also look for safety. You can see all the top safety cars on the internet by searching them. The best ratings are on msn, forbes and other such websites.

Myspace.com has made some serious waves on the internet, offering thousands of people their own free sites where they can keep in touch with old buddies, find new friends, tell other people about themselves, and pretty much write the stories of their own lives.

Myspace has got areas for people in general just looking to meet new faces and exchange thoughts with others, but it also has its own little communities where people who have similar hobbies and interests can sit together and jam on forums. Some of the niche groups in myspace, for example, deal with skateboarding, and a lot of passionate skateboarders worldwide have joined myspace to meet with others of like hearts and minds.

If you’re a dedicated skateboarder and want to get in touch with your kindred spirits then try your hand at making your own entry at Myspace.com. Designing your own space is easy - there are dozens of reliable sources online where you can download codes, layouts, graphics, and music to spice up your personal page. Some of these are even dedicated to providing skateboarders with some good layouts for their myspace page.

However as any artist knows, just having the stuff to work with isn’t enough. You have to get creative and put your soul into something if you want people to stand up and take notice. Here are a few tips I mugged from friends who not only skateboard but do other stuff like music and graphics design. Maybe these examples will help you out, and spark your creative juices too.

Graphic Ideas - a webpage without graphics is a cake without icing, cherries, and chocolate flakes. Just plain boring. Whether it’s a picture of you and your girl set as the background, a splash of your favorite movie or anime character, or a photo of your beloved skateboard, your opening page has got to tell people who you are at a glance. As an example of creativity, one of my friends in the karate club used a picture for his background where he was the victim of a kick that literally sent him off the ground. Painful, but amusing to see. Another of my buddies did a self portrait charcoal sketch and scanned it for his space. If you can draw, paint, or do computer graphics you can do a lot in this department.

Music, Baby! - there’s a saying that Life Has a Soundtrack. Aside from the tunes you stick in your car when driving or in your CD player when you’re ripping on your skateboard, there are those tunes that just seem to play in the background from somewhere when Wierd Things happen in your life… If you know what I’m talking about, then this is one area where you can spice up the layout of your myspace page.

Photo and Video Galleries - this is where you can start getting funky. Setting up several photo galleries give people an insight into who you are and what you do. Some of the stuff I’ve seen my friends do include the following: Winning shots of all his skateboarding stunts and competitions, a Bloopers gallery showing every crash and burn on a board, a Skateboard collection (all of them personally tricked up and spraypainted with awesome designs), even a Tattoo Art gallery for one of our gang who skateboards, surfs, and owns a tattoo parlor down in the beach.

Blog your Stuff - lastly, this is the modern version of those cheesy leatherbound diaries we see distinguished gentlemen and genteel ladies use in those old movies. In the modern age, we blog stuff. Jot your experiences and ideas here from day to day, and your brain’s caffeine level is probably the only real limit to what you put here. You can rant, you can rave, you can brag about your latest accomplishments or post questions that your viewers may have an answer to (or a wisecrack, but them’s the breaks!). Some layouts for myspace also allow you to set up surveys for your friends to answer when they visit your page, allowing you to twist people’s heads up with strange questions that are best pondered when intoxicated…
