A great thing to do with kids is to take them outside and fly a kite. Except kites can be a little difficult for them and maybe even you. So to learn how to get a kite up in the sky and how to fly it the right way there are a few things to do. The first thing you want to do to be able to fly a kite well is pick a good area to fly it in. You want an open area where there are not many trees. You do not want your kite flying into tree branches and getting stuck. Also staying clear of buildings, cars, and wires is smart. You just want a spot where you have enough room to move around and fly your kite.
An obvious when flying a kite is making sure there is a good amount of wind to fly your kite in. You do not want to fast of wind because it can become hard to control your kite, so you want a little wind just to pick up your kite and keep it up in the air. The next step in flying a kite is getting it up into the air. There are a few ways to do this. The first is to hold the kite up into the wind and let the kite float into he air while letting string out. But when there is not enough wind to take the kite up by itself you have to do it manually.
You can do this by letting out a good amount of string and have another person take the kite end and run out with it a little and then let it go. When flying the kite you have to keep hold of the string and not let it go. That is if you are flying your kite in a real easy breeze. If the wind is light you want to remember to keep tension in the string so it stays up. Making sure you do not lose the kite is something to be aware of when flying them.
To bring your kite back down to the ground reel in the string until it can land softly. Once you get the hang of flying kite you will be able to get your kites up easily with no trouble at all. So if your ever bored on a beautiful windy day, find a kite and go fly it outside.
